i don't thik it's anybody's business. either people will participate if they think the $ is right or if they think it's not they won't.

that's where deciding how much extra (rake, entry fee, etc) they charge vs the pay out becomes a sticking point. if somebody else want's to compete, God bless 'em.

i have a great deal of expertise on running bridge events and if anyone wants to gag @ what the host organization charges vs their payouts ($0) go look at the bloated ACBL and thank your lucky stars they haven't started running bg events, too!
