just let the market forces work. if the directors made $50B i think we'd really be on to something! :-) personally, i think they should be compensated as professionals --- the "hours" they work @ the tourneys are a drop in the bucket compared with organizing them. I know, I've done it. it's more thankless than you can imagine. if the tds are in this for the $, they aren't as good at business as they should be --- from what i've seen (admittedly not much in bg) getting a single tournament together with all the logistics involved takes about 2-3 months of full time work (even if spread over a longer period). if you think they should only be paid for the tourney, then who's organizing, advertising, taking registrations, getting phone calls @ EVERY hour of the day and night. you seriously need to run a tournament from beginning to end --- in addition to your day job --- because you'll need something to live on. ps you won't be posting here much :-)

if they need to post their $ sheet, the least they can do is post their "punch card" for the hours/days/weeks/months that went into running a successful tourney. all you see is the tournament, not the work that went into it.
