I just clear the 9-point. I considered 16/11, 6/2 but don't think you gain all that much when you're missed and obviously you don't want to get hit. Stacking the acepoint is bad for the race (still up for grabs) and bad for contact. 6's (forced off the 16-point next turn) aren't all bad, and at worst no more shots than if you volunteer one now.

Note that White has to play a couple rolls, too, and may not be so well placed to hit you when you finally have to leave a blot.
