It's good to sell the clocks after the tournament but you should also consider selling them before and during the event (reserving just a few for your purposes). Carol Joy Cole had a small supply of clocks at the 'clocks allowed' Charlotte tournament, and sold all of them well before the main event began.

Here's my idea for getting the clocks out there in the playing community. Have several dozen clocks available at the event like Chiva, but have the event be 'clocks required'. If neither player has a clock for their match, one of them MUST buy a clock right there before they proceed. A few tournaments like this and the proper density of clock ownership will be achieved, allowing clocks required events with almost completely player supplied equipment. Further tournaments could continue to have a small supply for sale, and the 'buy one if you don't have one' system in effect.
