Chiva: I am positive that the best delay time based on this experience is 15 seconds per move, 12 being a bit too short.

RM: I certainly agree that if you are down to 5 seconds of reserve, that 15 seconds would make it far more comfortable to indefinitely play a decent game of backgammon entirely with the delay. But if we allow more time per move, perhaps there is less need for reserve time. What reserve time do you use combined with the more generous delay time?
