Some sort of split is necessary; Blue needs to grab an advanced anchor to counter White's. There are four reasonable ways to go for it.

24/18 means that White won't be able to make a point or unstack the six point if he wishes to hit.

24/20 13/11 goes after the best anchor but exposes another blot to direct sixes.

13/9 24/22 pressures the stripped nine point but doesn't split to the points White wants to make. It is an inferior anchor, though. On the plus side, White's hitting fours are duplicated with lots on point-making rolls.

24/20 24/22 combines the benefits of the other two splits, and doesn't expose another forward chequer. If White does PoH, Blue is still poised to make an advanced anchor. Like 24/18, it does nothing to develop Blue's midpoint stack.

Overall, I think Blue loses too much if White can run with a hit, so I want to play both dice on the other side of the board. 24/18 is better than 24/20 24/22 when it works, and I think it works often enough to make it the right play.
