we need a lot more Al Fallers

I only watched Al play against Ray (and I didn't play him myself). Among his vanquished were Gartner, Culpepper, and Rice. He only lost to Neil and Ray.
I'd be interested in seeing a discussion, particularly interested in hearing from those who played Al, on the strategy of playing this kind of player. I don't think his result can be completely explained by luck.
I will say this -- his match with Ray was as entertaining as any I've seen in a long while. Not only was Ray loose and talkative, but Al was going along with the conversation, too. This guy may not have an error rate below 20, but he ENJOYS the game immensely, and I found him to be a refreshing addition to the Ty. If it were just a bunch of robots (like myself, although I'm more like EXBG) playing each other, not only would the attendance be so paltry that the directors would stop running Ty's, but we wouldn't have nearly as much fun playing NOR telling stories in between and afterwards.
Salt of the earth -- and BG needs a lot more shakers.
