I would just go for 16/7 which leaves four fewer shots. I can see some nice things that could come (flexibility-wise) from making the 10-point, plus some minor difficulties (from duplication of aces) in White lifting the blot. But the flexibility issue may be moot next turn. A desperate White's best chances to save his skin comes from hitting, IMO.
