I guessed #5 but didn't post. The others were impossible for me (without going to a reference).

When I was a kid (60's) I read several baseball biographies. One was about a Brooklyn+LA Dodger who mentioned Chuck Conners coming by and cheering him up -- having been a teammate. Now I can't even remeber the Dodger but he was obviously one of their best (at the time) and I remember he was left handed because he once told his manager the other team was sure to start an RH pitcher to make his life more miserable and the manager told him "sure, against our lineup of eight righties." :)
