Most frequently broken US rule?

Matt, your interpretations are spot-on, I agree with them completely.
Another type of move I consider to be ambiguous...pushing multiple checkers on adjacent points. E.g. say you have 3 checkers on your 8 point and 2 checkers on your 9 point and have a couple of deuces to play, and you intend to move 9/7(2) with them. Instead of picking up the 2 checkers on the 9 point and putting them on the 7 point you push the checkers onto the 8 point, displacing the 2 checkers on the 8 point, pushing them to the 7 point. This is cute and clever but it is NOT unambiguous. Maybe I'm just dull but I usually have to stop and think about it for a moment to make sure nothing funny happened, and with clocks I should not have to parse this on my time. I think this type of checker movement should be called out with clocked play, and I think I will.
And Chuck, I agree with the sentiments of your original post. This rule is frequently violated, and by top players as well.
Maybe not everyone is even aware of this rule. I called out a player in Pittsburgh for using two hands to move. This was an experienced live tournament player and this player claimed to not be aware of this rule.
