Don't think we're supposed to slot here, even with Stick's less than scary homeboard. I didn't see the following interesting play at first:

16/11, 6/2 -- not only safe for 6-6 but keeps the builder on the 7-point AND still makes the 3-point with 4-4.

I guess I missed this initially because it is counter-intuitive to put checkers on the 1- and 2-points when preparing for the bearoff. But it's safer (I think) than 16/7 or 16/12, 7/2. This last play starts the bearoff earlier but is less likely to close the 3-point so it seems worse for winning gammons.
