ABT Tourney Schedule

I think it is largely a case of the pigeonhole principle. If you try to schedule 18 or so ABT events in 12 months, you will get multiple events per month.

Personally, I see no problem with this. There are a few events I want to go to and they are spread out. I will then supplement with a few others that are convenient. And at the end of the year, if it really matters for the last event I'll fly to LA from New York and take the red-eye home (and sometimes like last year live to regret it). Honestly I would probably not be going to LA otherwise, so the idea of having the "decider" in a place many people might not otherwise go to because of the travel difficulty is probably a good idea.

For those that are insane and attend every event, it makes no difference when the events are scheduled. And for the rest of us, Darwinian forces will compel directors to choose better weekends or discontinue if nobody shows up.
