ABT Tourney Schedule

Granted.
However, it takes local promotion to have those tourneys. Now there are two in LA, two in Las Vegas, and one in Denver. The Seattle tourney was successful, I think, but, to my understanding, was ended with concerns about gambling laws (at least in part). Other large cities in the West or Southwest seemingly could/should have tournaments -- Bay Area, San Diego, Tucson/Phoenix, Seattle (once more) and one or more in Texas. I know there are a lot of players in the Bay Area and a lot in Texas. I've had discussions with several about trying to promote a Texas based tourney but we've been too lazy to progress to this point -- maybe individual tourneys in Dallas and Houston, or a single tourney that perhaps rotated between Dallas, Houston, and Austin/San Antonio.
That withstanding, it is easier, IMHO, for someone to travel east for a weekend tourney than to travel west -- due to the time zone differentials. Someone with a normal job schedule can typically get home Sunday evening when going from the East Coast to the West Coast -- and cannot when going the other direction. Conversely, the West Coast players are at a disadvantage going east when considering events beginning Friday night (jackpots, masters, doubles) -- but not the main ABT events.
By my analysis, there are 9 ABT tourneys in Eastern Time Zone, 5 in Central, 1 in Mountain, and 4 in Western. Is a more equitable distribution desirable? Probably. However, I don't know that the distribution does not fairly represent player distribution, and the population as a whole.
I don't know the answers. Just trying to stir some conversation/discussion.
