I played Larry Liebster just last night at our club. We played with a clock, but agreed on no penalties for a timeout. It was a 7 point match, and he timed out in the fifth or sixth game with the score 5-3... at the time I had 10:48 left on my clock (having started with 14:00). My experience sounds similar to Bill's... Larry is a slow player, but what got him was really slow hands... on more than one occasion, he would get into reserve time on a forced play. After he timed out, we continued to hit the clock as usual. Oddly enough, he didn't have that much trouble remembering to hit the clock in the early part of the match, but the longer we went, the more he'd forget and would pick up the dice. I would attribute maybe 80% of his "slowness" due to sheer mechanical slowness.
