Theft at Recent ABT Events

Bill, I misread your post the first time I read it days ago and thought the board was stolen much longer than a year ago. Somehow I was thinkinng many years ago it happened.
Because the incident happened only a year ago and even though his story is bullshit, it has not been proven he stole the board. Because it is very recent I am going to reverse my thoughts from what I posted in this thread elsewhere. I am in agreement that this guy should be called out and punished accordingly. Otherwise I stand by my post elsewhere in the thread.
I still cannot bring myself to an agreement on a ban for life without conclusive proof. Ban him for a year from all ABT and local events. After a year he can only play in their local home club where he can be supervised for another year. After this year the director of the club reports to the other directors the violaters character along with recommendations if the violater should be allowed to have playing privileges at other local clubs and the ABT. All directors vote to allow or disallow that person to play in any future events. Conditions could be included if they are needed.
Even though that person may be allowed to play, I would think that person will not be received with open arms and pretty much be given the cold shoulder everywhere in the players community.
On the other hand, that person should be banned for good if conclusive proof of theft was intended.
What bothers me most is if someone buys a board on ebay or craigslist and uses it at an event. The board is recognized as one being stolen and now that person is banned for having possesion of the stolen board. Yes, one can make an arguement that the person stole it even though he shows proof of purchase, but it can also be argued it was a bonafide sale.
