A barring story from Paris

In Response To: Another Overlooked Rule (happyjuggler0)

Several years ago, I was at some French Tourney at some overpriced hotel in Paris. My French opp, who was smoking up a storm, adding to the nearly unbreathable air in the smallish room with low ceilings for some reason decided to bar my wife who was just sitting there trying to watch our match thru the smoky haze. I complained to the director since my wife was most certainly not doing anything objectionable and the director upheld the barring and replied to me that my opp was a grouchy character but that he had the right to ask my wife to not watch.

Needless to say, I didn't return to that T the following year...the smoke having left as bad a taste in my mouth as the barring.
