cuts both ways; if someone wants to indiscriminately bar someone I'm sure there will be reciprocation somewhere down the road;

I didn't say I'd do it; didn't say I think someone should do it;

I think it extremely rare that a player bars someone; closest I ever came was in Monte Carlo when a couple of Russian friends of a Russian opponent were standing/watching while chatting in Russian; that had to end for a couple of reasons -- one, it was discourteous and distracting, and two, fall all I knew they were talking about the positions on the board

but, even if my next opponent asked me to leave, I'd leave;

I think exceptions should be made, as in the case Neil described, for non-playing wives, gfs, bfs, etc.; one should not be able to bar such a person without cause

but, as in the case of Rod and Ray -- and I'm not taking sides, I don't know the history between them, though the whole ongoing rant seems juvenile, if not infantile -- I can imagine neither of them would want the other around; so be it
