In Response To: New ways of gambling at backgammon (Dan Pelton)

Do you have a copy of Championship Backgammon, by Cooke and Orlean? If not, you might want to get one. The book demonstrates that duplicate backgammon is not really an interesting concept, since the luck is not removed at all, and since the mechanics of play are somewhat awkward.

The book is way outdated from a technical standpoint, but a good read nonetheless for its excellent prose and compelling narrative.
