And sometimes the weaker player and the stronger player can both get their way with a little bit of patience.

I was playing in the finals of an 8 player $50 jackpot with a whopping $360 at stake. My opponent wanted to split the pot down the middle and not bother playing the match. I on the other hand had 10 hours to kill before my flight. I told him politely that I was not interested. He kept pushing stating that he had better things to do with the time. I told him that I would accept a 60/40 split of the pot which I figured might be a little high for a 5 pointer, but the math was easy and he was motivated. He refused. So we sat down to play. The first game did not go well and he doubled, I passed. 0-1 to 5. At this point, my opponent again offered to split the pot 50/50. I did a quick match equity calc and knew we were at around 43/57. Close enough. We split even money and I got my odds. Everyone was happy.
