You mentioned about how you got used to playing the larger number first because of your fibs client. There are other ways that bot use can get one into bad habits also. Some only get comfortable going one direction. Some get used to having the pips numbered (like they are on the diagram) and like they are not done on an actual board and I think may get into the habit of calculating instead of actually physically seeing how many pips a checker advances and that could cause problems later on.
