but anytime I outplay my opponent by 8+ I typically expect to win.

Getting crushed by awfully playing opponents is quite hard to handle for me as well. But in those moments one should keep mind that outplaying someone by 8+ translates to being something like an 80% favorite to win a 15-point-match on average (not sure about the correct number, but I think the 71% that Snowie gave you for this particular match may be a bit on the low side). Which means that you should expect to lose a whopping 20%!
