I don't believe you've addressed your premise, which is that steering towards positions with forced decisions is good.

My premise is that steering towards positions with forced decisions is better than the gnubg method says it is. Alice or Bob?

I also wrote that steering towards positions one knows how to play well is part of one's skill. By 'steering' I didn't mean 'blundering'.
