I believe (maybe some of you chess guys can confirm) that the record of moves in a chess tournament is property of the tournament and not the player.
I'm not sure what this means. The record of a chess game isn't intellectual property.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, that all chess players record their moves, and that record can be used by the tournament. For instance, the player does not have the right to insist that the record of the game be kept private.
I'm blowing smoke... I'm trying to find out what the rule really is. I haven't played competitive chess since the 8th grade.
