I'll Kick it Off -- Recording Controversy in Atlanta

Bill: Why should my opponent's 50% interest in our match trump my 50% interest in our match? Particularly, if I'm recording for my own personal use?
Ray F: Well, Bill... your own personal use often includes publicly publishing some of your positions here. Quite often I suppose without the opponents permission. I think this is the real reason Nack refuses to have his matches recorded because everyone would sit here and dissect his strategies and figure out what it is he is doing, or something. I dunno I can't speak for Nack.
You posted something about a the rare triple double recently which ridiculed some hapless guy who played bad. I doubt he would have given you permission to do that if he had a choice! People are not necessarily keeping everything to themselves... so, I believe that would give someone a reason why they do not want to be recorded.
I know that the first 5 times I was recorded I lost. I am not superstitious, but some people having lost ONE match that was filmed, might well decide that it was the camera that caused their bad luck. I wouldn't, but I have seen sillier superstitions at BG tournaments!
Anyway, I have published positions I took still photos of without my opps permission, so I am no better than you... Just noting that "your own personal use" is often to publish here.
