In Response To: I'll Kick it Off -- Recording Controversy in Atlanta (Matt Cohn-Geier)

I think I have sent out all the matches I have recorded...but maybe 1 or 2 have evaded me as I collect a ton of them over a weekend and it becomes difficult to keep track of what has been entered & sent out and so on. I need to have a better system for doing that. I think I am caught up to date, but if anyone hasn't received or doesn't receive a match, shoot me an e-mail.

I have a little notebook in which I keep a record of my matches. When I'm playing, it's used for keeping score. For instance, from the last Vegas tournament, I've got this gem:

Championship Consolation Round of 16
C J. Lee (11) L 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 1
Ray Fogerlund 1 2 3 4 6 6 7 9

Hey, that came out pretty good... that's just about exactly how it looks in my notebook, right down to the big fat L. The C in the far left indicates that we played with a clock. The big fat L and the lack of crooked numbers in the top row indicates that Ray kicked the ever loving snot out of me.

Having the running score of the match helps for situations where the camera can't or doesn't see the flip scoreboard. It helps because I have on more than one occasion missed a cube turn due to trying to zip through the recording to save time.

When I record a match and somebody asks me to send them the match, I make a note of their email address right there in my notebook. Looks like I'll be sending out 13 matches from the Vegas tournament.

One last thing on recording and send matches to people... I hit them with a preemptive strike... as I'm setting up the camera, I sometimes will ask them if they'd like a copy of the match, rather than wait for them to ask me.
