25 years ago I paid Kit $75 and hour. 20 years ago I played 3 point matches on line with Nack for $100 a match, but he had to critique my game and offer advice after the match. Perry gets $100 an hour. Mary Hickey charges $40. I charge $50. I also charge $100 an hour for group lessons of 4-6.
I think its a matter of what you are teaching and to whom, what they can afford, and how good a teacher you are. I consider myself to be as good as any teacher in the world for beginners and intermediates, and not qualified to teach Open Players.
You are clearly a world class player and should demand around $100 to $150 an hour...but there are not a lot of people who can afford that...but that's what you're worth assuming you are as good at teaching as you are at playing....the two do not necessarily go hand in hand.
I've been teaching 20 years and have great lesson plans, excellent examples to illustrate each concept, and a track record of ex-students who are not known open players and many to recommend my lessons. Also, I offer a money back guarantee.
If you are working closely with an Open Level player you should get at least $100 an hour. Because intermediates and beginners can find people like me and Mary and others, you simply can't charge them that much (in my opinion).
