Well on the other side of the equation.

1) Some bozo determined to make themselves appear brilliant may roll out all the positions ahead of time and come already knowing the answers. I am unfortunately unable to attend so my display of brilliance will have to wait.

2) Stick already has the first 5 moves of any backgammon game committed to memory, so if there are 3 reasonable moves on the 6th play in this particular game, you have to figure his chances of getting it right are at least 25%.
