An interesting strategy -- find a different straw man to attack. What does this have to do with identifying rapists? Actually, you prove my point -- get the facts straight before you convict someone, or in this case cast aspersions. It is important to get the best description possible, but it's also insupportable to identify "x" as the rapist just because "x" is black and the rapist was black. What you suggested was that because the chouette cheat and board stealer had (in your view) "similar names", maybe they were the same person. The fact that the board thief was Russian and the chouette cheat was Bulgarian apparently means nothing to you. And yes, the chouette cheat "could have been" the board thief, but so could any number of persons at the hotel. The real indication of your prejudice is your statement: "based on the name". Why does the similarity of the names (again, in your view) indicate a likelihood of the two being the same person? Would you say that if the thief's name was "Jones" that you "could be the same person because your name is "similar"? You would be well advised to think a little bit before making ignorant accusations.
This has nothing to do with thin skin -- it has to do with making judgments based on prejudice. And your side of the discussion is anything but reasonable. I would think, however, that if you had been the target of similar prejudice you might not be so quick to jump to conclusions.
