What if the director happens to be one of the people stiffed in the chouette (as is the case here). Seems the director does not have to figure out who to believe in that case.

The director places themselves in the role of judge when they choose to hold an event. There are people they know and trust beyond doubt and there are those they can't be sure of. They must factor in the reputation of anyone whose testimony they take and all of the evidence. Ultimately no director will take such a decision lightly. But if the facts are beyond dispute, the players would like to know that at events they play at that directors do not turn a blind eye to established cheats and thieves and say "its not my problem". Directors are leaders of this community and we hope they will help to safeguard that community. Individual directors do not need to give a reason to bar individual players, plain and simple. And they are allowed to talk to one another.

Any player who feels unfairly accused will find no shortage of reasonable people willing to listen to them with an open mind - most particularly the accuser in most cases. But when someone hides and avoids open discussion of the situation, they should not be surprised when they are convicted in absentia. And they should not expect that they can simply ignore the situation and expect to simply show up at some other event unchecked.
