I'll venture a bold statement which I'm sure all the top Danish players who you mention would back: Denmark can easily muster 10 players who can outplay the top 10 American players, measured by ER. I'm also sure it would be possible to get these players to put their money where my mouth is, if a Ryder Cup sort of event ever were to happen between Denmark and the US, provided agendaes match and provided there is enough at stake.
I think Norway can't quite match that level but they're improving rapidly as we speak and they do have many, very strong players. The same can be said about Japan. Germany also has tons of good players. It should be no surprise that some German player always contends in the major tournaments. France also has some very strong players, including Tardieu who I believe is the person closest to Lylloff when it comes to playing strength and consistency.
One thing is what you play on a good day. Everybody can play a 2 or less. Personally I find it much more telling what a person plays on a bad day. And what a person averages over say 20 or 30 matches.
Bottom line is, there are so many good players in many different countries. I just wish we could have more truly international events that would attract all the real big guns. Like in the Bahamas.
We need to get a good, constructive discussion going on what it would take to make the best American players come to Europe to try their luck. The same things would probably make more Europeans wanna come to the US.
