Well, I'm not making the 7-point, if that's what you're hinting at. :)

I would just hit on the way out. Hitting slows down White's development at the cost of giving him/her some timing. I'm not concerned if opp uses this checker to make my 3-point.

Back/holding games that include the 5-point need to get things going earlier than normal backgames, so taking away development seems to make sense.

Would it be different if White owned the 22-point instead of the 20-point? Probably not, but it would be more tempting to shun the hit.
