Kudos to Chiva....

Let me join in saluting Chiva's efforts. I thought it a first class tourney and venue.

I am embarrassed, to an extent, by the US backgammon community for the poor turnout, weak support, and, unbelieveably, sniping in some circles. We all keep discussing how we can improve the game, grow attendance, etc. and then when, perhaps, the premier backgammon tournament promoter in Europe tries to do something special here in the States it is not enthusiastically supported and endorsed.

I can only hope Chiva is not too disappointed and frustrated with the whole situation and tries again next year -- with much better acceptance and success. We should all do what we can to enhance a U.S. Open.
