If I have put words into Bill's mouth that he did not say, please tell me what they are.

Bill stated that he felt a loss of credibility in local ABT players who did not attend the US Open. Well, at the risk of sounding arrogant, perhaps the two most prominent local ABT players who did not attend were Bob Koca and myself. (Certainly I am not worthy to carry Bob Koca's doubling cube).

So I simply explained why I did not attend.

You are right. Conservatives and moderates and liberals reserve the right to judge. I retract that statement, it cannot be defended. I am a conservative and proud of it. I consider Bill Riles a fellow traveler in it. I am bewildered by his animosity.
