Good job taking things out of context, Bill.
Yes, Bill, most of your post was light-hearted and good-natured. Which is why I only responded to your concern about the loss of credibility of some unnamed local players, for which I tried to make a defense.
I simply repeated Joe's use of term rant since that is what he called my post. Honestly I took the word Awesome as a compliment but rant as an insult, but I respect Joe's right to have his opinion. (There I go carrying his water again). I also realized that parts of my post were not germane to my argument, e.g. my woe at making the wrong choice between choosing between a public sector and private sector career when I had offers from both out of college. But hey, life isn't fair and I'm not starving and I shouldn't have complained. My life has been blessed.
But the basic premise of my argument to Ray is this, and that remains unchanged- hey Ray, I think you went over your line in some of your criticism of some of the local players who did not attend.
I like Ray. He has a right to take my criticism and ignore it or to ponder it. He has been silent so far, maybe because he is busy at work, or maybe he just doesn't care what I say. That is fine. He has the right to accept some, all or none of it. I expect that either Ray will tear me a new one or else he might say hey maybe you do have a bit of a point. Either way I expect that we would work it out and the next time I saw him in person we'd shake hands and say hello.
I apologize to all the BGOnliners who are following this thread and are about ready to slit their wrists by now.
