That Wikipedia article you reference also says:

CliffsNotes was started by a Nebraska native named Cliff Hillegass in 1958.

So the guy who initiated study guides to help students do well in their English classes doesn't even know proper punctuation?

Sidelight: my English teachers despised these. The reason is that you could get away without reading the book and still do well on their tests. (Hey, dufus, create a better test.)
