I have to disagree mildly on your statement about backgammon players not being prone to be from education. True in an absolute sense, but backgammon players come from the entire spectrum of professions, and I've never seen evidence of a clumping from one area over another. Some examples of educators who are regular posters here: Bob Koca and Jason Lee.

Just from a curiosity (but also maybe of value), where exactly is the school(s) that you teach located? Can you generalize the location as urban, suburban, rural?
