Research: ABT desires

Good questions, DC, and I'm wishing you success in your endeavor. I can take on one of your questions: why is Michigan so popular. Some reasons (IMO):

1. Big holiday weekend -- allows for three day main event.

2. SE Michigan has three active clubs thanks to many years of hard promotional work, etc.

3. Everybody likes CJC.

4. Tradition -- Ty has been conducted for over 25 years.

5. Momentuum (related to #4). The precedence in attendance attracts players who want to go to a Ty with a big turnout.

6. Location, location, location -- reasonably close (<30 minutes) to major airport. Nice hotel with good rates; lots of restaurants nearby, a couple within walking distance.

There are some other niceties (lectures, unique freeze-out event, great selection of BG boards, supplies, books, etc.). Of course a lot of US Ty's have many of the above, but how many have ALL of them?
