NB: An exception to the penalties above is one where the player on roll has a forced move. In this instance the forced move and the premature action are both valid.

I hate this rule. Not because I think that in the scenario originally given that White should be forced to reroll -- I hate it because it allows some premature rolling. Premature rolling is never appropriate. Don't do it.

My ruling in the original: the 11 stands, and I give both players a stern lecture: (1) Do not roll prematurely and (2) Do not allow premature rolling and (3) (to Black) If you try to take a shot again, there's the door.
