Neil replies..this is honestly unbelievable. I've encountered lots of BS in my 30+ years of BG tourney play, but having a director make a bad ruling bcuz he was rooting for your opp, really is shocking, to put it politely. However, I do believe it and have seen similar things, but not recently..ie back in the 1980's.

I do recall from the late 90's having a director not award penalty points against a player who came back a tad over 30 minutes late from dinner. The director owned the tardy player in the calcutta ! His comment was, that "so and so" is a nice guy and probably was just enjoying himself with his group of friends at dinner and forgot the time, and that there's plenty of time to play tonite anyhow. This didn't directly affect me, other than that I was to play the winner of the match that started late.

However, David's incident is an order of magnitude worse than almost anything I've ever seen a director do. I do hope that this wasn't in a major ABT type tourney and was just a weekly club event.

David, please give details of the ruling and of course, you don't have to name names. TY .. neilkaz ..
