In Response To: Awkward Clock Situation (Bill Riles)

IMO all persons involved handled the situation properly.

For director to choose NOT to call a timeout in the match because POSSIBLY a player didn't know how much time s/he had left would be a gross misjudgment, IMO, considering the importance of his/her concern (in this case that the clocks were improperly set BY THE DIRECTOR).

But continuing on my compliments, Director, rather than to make an immediate ruling, called the players outside to discuss the situation. It's pretty clear to me that rather than enforcing some kind of decision unilaterally, she wanted to first attempt to get reasonable approval from BOTH players. Good technique. If that hadn't happened then she proceeds to plan B.

Glad to hear that both players were comfortable with informing directors that everything was already fine -- no disagreement, no angling, no adjustment necessary.
