I love bg. One of the reasons I do is the caliber of people that I meet. These posts are indicative to me of the mores of this community and i must say it is a welcome escape from what I put up with in the business world.

I want to relate a story about one of our best players, whose reputation his doubles partner at a recent event, knows well. But I dont want to embarass his doubles partner by naming names. His doubles partner was someone far below his ability level. But the partner made statements like 'that can't possibly be right' when the expert advised him on what he would play. The expert never insisted on his play. The expert is intensely competitive and really wanted to win, but the kind and civil way he responded to provocative remarks was to me one of the highlights of the tournament. The expert did not get paid to play with this guy and it should have been a great privilege for any lesser player to play with him. Amazing.
