Bad Behavior in Michigan

It can really suck to have put up with players who whine/gloat about the dice, especially when they win. But, they are not as classy as you, so pity them :-) If everyone acted like them, who'd want to spend their free time on weekends in such an environment? Fortunately, most bg players aren't like this, most have enough respect not to behave that way.
That said... you'll learn to deal with this with practice (it'll happen again), so stay at it. My only win this past weekend was a steamroll, and after yet another unlucky sequence, my opponent starting babbling. I didn't say anything, but eventually I did grin widely. "You think that's funny?" he asked. "Well, yeah - if you play this game long enough, you see it all." I answered. A little later he apologized for his behavior, and I said "Really, its ok, it doesn't bother me." And it really didn't... its not easy to suffer the dice sometimes, and everyone handles this pain differently. Its harder when the comments sound personal - when that happens, I try not to take it personally and deflect. But if thats not possible and lines have been crossed, calling the director is appropriate.
"It's like a nightmare, isn't it? It just keeps getting worse and worse." (Color of Money quote)
