I like to watch Rich play. Apart from being one of the very best players in the world, he also maintains a perfectly friendly attitude and demeanor throughout a match, and he is willing to engage the spectators in helpful postmortems.

Thrice during the past year--including once against me at Madison, once against Freddie in the Lisle tourney, and once against some Continental chap at Monte Carlo--I have seen Rich take some of the worst bad beats bg has to offer, never once complaining or fulminating or getting upset, even in the face of losing to inferior contestants. I have to applaud that.
