The thread at Hardy's site does not contain much information of the kind you are looking for, just rollout and evaluation results of various bots, much like in this bgonline thread, which also contains some illuminating comments by Neil.

I played 11 interactive rollout trials as Blue against gnubg 2-ply, figuring that gnubg would handle the containment well and that even I could not blunder too much as Blue. Score was 9-2 before I lost interest when I saw gnubg completely butchering one of the games by stacking its midpoint as high as possible.
