Interesting.

4(2) looks good except 5.5% of the time when it really sucks (and another 2.8% when it sucks pretty bad).

8/6, 3/2 is safe for now....

I think because most of the time White can't stay around without busting up his baord, the ugly but safe play is better. (And I have a tendency to voluntarily pay off to immediate longshots more than I should, but that's not your problem. :)
