Watson is many times the champion that Norman is. I suspect that Watson will flunk tomorrow, but I really hope he does not. He was one of my first sports heroes--I was rooting for him at the same time I was cheering for Reggie Jackson, decades before I knew about Magriel and Robertie and Falafel and Kazaross. Watson is pretty clearly the greatest links golfer of all time. For him to win the Open 26 years after his last triumph would be kind of like John Lennon releasing a great platter tomorrow.
