While 20/13 & 24/20 8/5 certainly aren't bad moves here I didn't think they were correct. 24/20 doesn't *make an anchor*, it does...but it doesn't...is that clear? lol The problem with avoiding making the anchor by playing 20/13 is that you leave your back checker completely stranded. Now if I enter with a lame duck even, say a 2-1, you have to worry about extricating that back man before I build another front blocking point [and you still have two blots rememeber, which won't be hard to cover/lift but you only have one turn to do all this!] Playing 24/20 thwarts any jokers I may have (double 1s isn't so terrifying anymore and a flyer from the bar is painless, you'll have the 5 pt. anchor, hop right in & hop right out again while I'll still have checkers to escape from behind your 4 (possibly 5, broken or solid) prime.
