Am I reading the brackets right?

To get to the semi's, first chance bracket players must win 5 matches (or 4 with a bye). That provides three of the semifinalists.

The second chance winner is the fourth semifinalist. But the path to get there can require as many as 8 wins.

Thus it's possible that a player with 4-0 record gets pitted against a player with an 8-1 record in the tournament semifinals?
