World championships in Vegas

Instead of a world championship, why not have "the majors" as Tennis has Wimbleton, US Open, French Open, and Australian Open. Simply designate the biggest tournament in each area of the world as one of the majors and have a portion of the entry fees go into a pot that rewards:
a) for attending all four b) for high performance in all four, and c) the title of World Champion to the one with the best record in all four, awarding so many points for each round won and extra points for winning, second, etc. etc.
The US Major would be great in Las Vegas; you could keep Monte Carlo and perhaps add something in Asia, and maybe the last on on the Near North side of Chicago. But that's just my opinion.
