No bashing, but ... (long and OT)

Bravo, Chiva.
If any number of countries, nationalities, ethnicities, cultures, and/or religions did a much better of job of policing and controlling their own; of instilling an ethic of civility, lawfulness, respect, responsibility, and more within their own; of providing national and economic security for their own; and of providing educational, developmental, and economic opportunities to their own ........
...... and, if the GDP of too many countries (both 'developed' and 'undeveloped') was not largely based on parasitic criminal activities by their governments and citizenry against and toward the US and other western, developed countries; ..........
...... and, if untold masses of immigrants, primarily illegal (by original design and/or by subsequent action/inaction) did not wish to flood the US and other developed western countries to suckle (dare I say steal?) educational, medical, and social benefits from the resident population and, unfortunately, oftentimes, to also engage in further criminal activities to enhance and enrich themselves ......
...... and, if terrorists (state sponsored, independent, and/or group affiliated) did not wish to inflict harm to the citizenry and to the very social and economic fabric of the US and other developed, western countries ......
...... and, if many of the countries, groups, and organizations mentioned herein would participate and better contribute to international security and the apprehension of terrorists and criminals (including the criminal immigrants) ........
...... and, if the envy and the jealously -- oftentimes promoted by governments, NGO's and the media (here and abroad) for various purposes -- of the freedoms, successes, and opportunities present in the US and western, developed countries did not broadly exist throughout much of the rest of the world .....
...... then, perhaps the entry security measures of the US and other western, developed countries could be mitigated. However, until considerable progress (currently unforeseen) is made on these measures throughout the world (within the US and abroad), I see no chance and no reason that many of the current security measures will be lessened -- and I do not so advocate. Certainly, there will be adaptations and modificatons with time in response to a changing security environment; however, many things must change before security can be relaxed. I pray any such security relaxation will be a reactive measure, not a proactive invitation.
I've spoken generally of the US and other developed western countries. I recognize the entry security measures to the US are, doubtlessly, the most draconian; however, as the largest and most preferred target, I do find this unreasonable.
Now, before you start bashing me too badly, I will be the first to admit and applaud the presence and contributions of any number of legal immigrants and visitors (of both a tourist and business nature). However, the criminal, terroristic, and parasitic elements too recognize this presence, and the desirability of this presence, and they do everything possible to blend into these populations and to blur the lines of differentiation. Consequently, all are inconvenienced.
(I wonder if those objecting so vociferously to US security measures lock the doors to their homes and offices? use passwords for critical personal accounts? leave cash and possessions laying about freely? and/or go strolling through the worst parts of town after dark? Just looking for consistency here.)
